David McKinney, Jr.
David McKinney, Jr., 88, of Otterville, passed away peacefully at his home, Monday, June 8, 2015.
David was one of four children born to William and Irene McKinney in Washington, Indiana, on July 9, 1926.
In his earlier years, David worked in the coal mines and was also employed by F.W. Means, an Industrial Janitorial Service in Chicago, IL.
David served in the Navy during WWII receiving several medals honoring his service to his country.
David and Lorraine were married forty yeas ago this July. They moved to Otterville at that time and have spent those 40 years on their farm, where he has improved the farm by clearing land and building fences, a barn, a pond and made many improvements to their home. The farm also allowed him to do what he enjoyed most, which was raise, train, and show quarter horses.
David was preceded in death by his parents and sisters, Lois Lashley and Norma Williams.
He is survived by his wife Lorraine of the home; stepsons Kenneth Blaida of Streamwood, IL and William Blaida of Leland, MI; and brother Earl McKinney of Bloomington, IN.
Graveside services for David McKinney, Jr. will be held at 10:00 am, Thursday, June 11, 2015 at the Highland Sacred Garden Cemetery in Sedalia, MO with full military honors.
Arragnements are under the direction of Meisenheimer Funeral Home, Otterville.
