Cynthia O'Donnell, 76, of Stover, Missouri, passed away peacefully at her home on Thursday, January 16, 2025.
Born on September 16, 1948, in Fresno, California.
Cynthia was united in marriage to Patrick O'Donnell on April 11, 2002, in Reno, Nevada.
Cynthia was a hardworking and determined woman who made significant contributions throughout her life. During the Vietnam War, she served as a nurse with the Red Cross, providing care to injured soldiers. She also worked as a nurse for many years before pursuing a career as a house painter in California, where she became the first female house painter in Fresno - a distinction she took great pride in. The name of her business was Cyndy and Ricky's House Painting because she brought her son, Ricky, to every jobsite. Later on she brought her daughter, Melissa, along too. Cynthia enjoyed spending time at the beach and often retreated to her beachside apartment whenever possible.
An avid crafter, Cynthia enjoyed knitting, crocheting, and cross-stitching, even when facing challenges such as a broken arm. She loved being outdoors, frequently camping and fishing, and cherished time spent with her pets and family. Her greatest joy came from the moments she shared with those she loved.
Cynthia is survived by her husband, Patrick; her son, Ricky Newell of Stover; her daughter, Melissa Sullins of Moss Point, Mississippi; four grandchildren, Travis, Jocelyn, Payton, and Cassandra; as well as extended family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Linda.
In keeping with her wishes, Cynthia will be cremated.
She will be remembered for her strength, her love for her family, and her enduring spirit.
Arrangements are under the care of the Scrivner-Page-Dady Funeral Home in Stover.
