Colleen Annette Keevil

Colleen Annette Keevil, age 75, passed away in her home in Ashland, Missouri on Thursday, March 31, 2016.

Born and raised in Tipton, Missouri, Colleen was one of three children born to Wm. Melvin and Ollie Mae Fry. Almost seeing her 76th year, the date of her birth was April 11, 1940.

Colleen graduated from Central Missouri State in Warrensburg, Missouri, and taught various business courses for many years at Tipton High School. She chose her profession well because she delighted in the relationships developed through teaching and watching students learn, develop and grow. Many lasting friendships also came from experiences with fellow teachers.

Colleen enjoyed reading, and in her younger years she liked to travel. One of her best friends was Cody, her pet pomeranian, who will miss her terribly. When Colleen lived in Tipton she was a member of the First Baptist Church.

Colleen married V.A. Keevil and they had one son, Jeff, who was also raised in Tipton. She and V.A. eventually moved to Roswell, New Mexico, and Colleen also taught there at a business school. They lived there until V.A. passed away in March of 2009, having been married nearly 50 years. In October of 2014, Colleen chose to move to Ashland, Missouri where she could be closer to her son Jeff, who resides in Columbia.

Those preceding Colleen in death are her parents, her husband and a brother, Jimmie Kay Fry in 1952.

Those surviving Colleen are her son Jeffrey Allen Keevil of Columbia, Missouri; her brother Gary Dale Fry of Tipton, Missouri; nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.

A Memorial Service for Colleen Annette Keevil will be held Saturday, May 7, 2016 at 11:00 AM at the Masonic Cemetery in Tipton, Missouri.
Memorials to the American Diabetes Association are suggested.
