Clayton H. Vansell

October 16, 1930 — April 11, 2013

Clayton H. Vansell, age 80, of Kansas City, Missouri passed away April 11, 2013. Clayton was born October 16, 1932, in Benton County, to Charles and Georgie Miller Vansell. He was born and raised in Stover, Missouri, eventually moving to Kansas City in the 1960's with his wife Lucille, who preceded him in death. Clayton worked in the maintenance department for the Liberty School District at Doniphan Elementary. He also worked for 40 years at TWA, retiring on August 31, 1992. On the same day as his retirement, he married Patricia Cline, who survives him. Clayton is also survived by one son, Jerry Vansell and wife, Pam; one daughter, Sharon Head; two step daughters, Annette Tolito and husband, Stephen and Tamara Murch; three sisters, Frances Wilcox of Sedalia; Patty Smith and husband Don of Oak Grove and Ruth Williams of Stover; six brothers, Kenneth Vansell and wife Marcella of Sedalia; Frank Vansell and wife Lois of Gravois Mills; William Vansell and wife Martha of Lee's Summit; Raymond Vansell and wife Bonnie of Stover; Leonard Vansell and wife Linda of Blue Springs and Darrell Vansell and wife Debbie of Versailles; a sister-in-law, Sue Vansell of Cole Camp; four grandchildren and five great grandchildren. In addition to his wife Lucille, he was also preceded in death by his parents, and one brother, Larry Wayne Vansell. Visitation will be 10:00 am-12:00 noon, Saturday, April 13, 2013 at McGilley Antioch Chapel in Kansas City.
Services will 1:30 p.m. Monday, April 15, at the Scrivner-Morrow Funeral Home in Stover, with friends received from 12:15 p.m. until service time at the funeral home on Monday. Interment will be in the Kipp Addition of the Stover Cemetery. Memorial contributions are suggested to the Northcare Hospice House.
