Chester Eugene King, age 68, of Versailles passed away Tuesday, December 3, 2013 at his home.
He was born December 9, 1944, in Norwood, Missouri a son of Chester A. and Marjorie Nulle King.
Chester married Connie Wyatt and to this union four children, Shawn, Tony, Jeff and Angela were born. On June 9, 1978, in Lee's Summit, Chester married Lorene "Lory" Bogner and to this union three children were born Justin, Janet and Charles. Lory survives at their home. Chester was a dairyman. He retired as foreman of the Roy Clouse Dairy Farm in Mansfield, Missouri after many years of employment. He was an avid outdoorsman, who enjoyed his work on the farm. He also liked working in his yard and going fishing. However, his greatest enjoyment came from the time he could spend with his family and friends. Chester and Lory's home was always open to welcome anyone who needed a place to go. In addition to his wife of 35 years, he is survived by five children, Shawn King and wife Sherri and Tony King all of Stover; Angela Hawkins and husband Hal of Springfield; Justin King and wife Ann and Janet King all of Versailles; two sisters, Wanda Looney of Lee's Summit and Teresa Clark and husband Warren of Sedalia; twenty-one grandchildren, Cathy, Mara, Dustin, Timmy, Phillip, Kendra, Michael, Keisha, Jamie, Marly, Jordan, Keyan, Chelsey, Dazarae, Tyriek, Kiara, Madisyn, Jamie, C.J. "Randy Jr.". Jayson and Ernie, twelve great grandchildren, along with nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. Chester was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife, Connie Randall, two brothers, Larry and Donnie, two sons, Jeffrey and Charles King, a daughter-in-law, Sandy King, and two grandsons, Austin and Chance.
A Celebration of Chester's life and a Pot Luck Dinner will be held Friday, December 13, beginning at 1:00 p.m. at the Stover Community Building located at 205 W. 4th Street (north end of the City Park) in Stover.
