Charlene Gay Burnett, age 71, of Stover, passed away Saturday, August 10, 2013, at Rest Haven Convalescent Home in Sedalia.
She was born January 28, 1942, in Kansas City, a daughter of Lacy and Aliene M. Houk Scott. On August 1, 1994, in Versailles,
Charlene was united in marriage to Oval Eugene "Gene" Burnett, who survives at their home.
She was a homemaker. She was a member of the Mt. Calvary Freewill Baptist Church near Stover. Charlene loved taking care of and being with her husband. She spent time every morning reading her Bible. In addition to her husband she is survived by four daughters, Aliene Gosslin and husband Marcel of Kiowa, Kansas; Tammy Webb and husband Arthur of Midwest City, Oklahoma, Lacy Perkins of Riverside, California and Leona Perkins of Burlington, Kansas; one brother, Leroy Scott and wife Judy of Overland Park, Kansas, twenty-three grandchildren, ten great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, Clifford Scott and one grandson. Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Friday, August 16, at the Scrivner-Morrow Funeral Home in Stover. Interment will be in the Chaney Chapel Cemetery south of Stover. The family will receive friends from 12:00 noon until service time on Friday at the funeral home.
