Cecile Ellen Cooper

Cecile Ellen Cooper, age 101 of Otterville, passed August 31,2015, surrounded by her family.

She was born November 23, 1913, a daughter of the late Walter and Bessie (Henderson) Marcum.

On November 24, 1934 she married Tom Cooper, who preceded her in death in 1967.

Mrs. Cooper was a life long member of the United Methodist Church. She worked at John's Cafe in Otterville until the age of 90. She enjoyed her job and was well known for her pies and noodles, but above all for her friendliness.

Mrs Cooper is survived by several nieces and nephews. She had no children of her own but her love and compassion for her family was without question.

She was preceded in death by seven brothers; Earl Marcum, Jake Marcum, George Marcum, Marion Marcum, Gus Marcum, CW Marcum, RV Marcum and two sisters; Mae (Marcum) Lee, and Gertrude (Marcum) Watring.

Pallbearers will be; Jim Marcum, Bill Marcum, Kim Marcum, Mike Marcum, Butch Marcum, and Roger Marcum. Honorary Bearers will be Gary Marcum, Deo Marcum, and Sonny Watring.

Funeral services for Mrs. Cooper will be at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, September 5, 2015 at the Presbyterian Church in Otterville, with the Pastors Randy and Diana Marcum officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until service time. Burial will follow at the IOOF Cemetery, Otterville.
