Catherine Marie Woolery, age 85, of Florence, passed away, Sunday, February 2, 2014, at Four Seasons Living Center in Sedalia. She was born January 21, 1929, in Morgan County, a daughter of Jesse J. and Muriel Sibbles Aldrich. On September 18, 1944, Catherine was united in marriage to Joe Elmer Woolery, who preceded her in death October 11, 1979. She was a homemaker, busy raising her three children. She also worked at the Tipton Pants Factory for several years. She was a member of the Mt. Olive Baptist Church in Florence. Catherine was an accomplished seamstress. She enjoyed crocheting, craft shows and making miniatures for dollhouses. Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Diana and Gerry Pummill of Otterville and Josie and Richard Old of Allen, Kansas; a daughter-in-law, Joyce Woolery of Florence; one brother and sister-in-law, Lee Roy and Teresa Aldrich of Sedalia; one sister and brother-in-law, Mary and George Reed of Centerview; eight grandchildren, Dale Old, Marcy Hawkins, Jermey Pummill, Jody Woolery, Jennifer Old-d`Entremont, Pamela Old and Jessica Mahin and Angela Connell, eleven great grandchildren and one great-great granddaughter. In addition to her husband, Catherine was preceded in death by her parents, her stepfather, Charles Cochran, one son, Jack Woolery, three brothers, Ralph, James and Albert Aldrich, five sisters, Mildred Petrikin, Maebelle Pillars-Jones, Pearly, Gladys and Alice Aldrich and two granddaughters, Holly Spaulding and Victoria Old.
Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 5, at the Mt. Olive Baptist Church in Florence, with friends received from 12:00 noon until service time. Rev. Gary Payne will officiate. Interment will be in the church cemetery. Memorial contributions are suggested to the Catherine Woolery memorial fund.
