Carolyn L. Meacham

Carolyn L. Meacham, age 88, of Versailles, died Thursday, November 19, 2009, at the Good Shepherd Care Center in Versailles.
She was born July 14, 1921, in Ansley, Nebraska, a daughter of Burton Henry and Lulu S. Anthony. Carolyn was united in marriage to Russell Meacham in 1937, in Omaha, Nebraska. Russell, Sr. survives at the home.
As a young woman she worked in a cafeteria in Omaha. She later stayed busy raising her family.
In 1976, the Meachams moved to the Versailles area. She enjoyed gardening and watching the cattle and birds on the farm.
In addition to her husband of 72 years, she is survived by one son, Russell Meacham Jr., and wife Merry of Troutville, Virginia; two daughters, Jean Fairbanks and Sue Asmus and husband Richard, Sr., all of Versailles; seven grandchildren and several great grandchildren.
Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents and two grandsons.
Private interment was Friday, November 20, at the Beulah Cemetery near Versailles.
