Carol Sue Weigel

Carol Sue Weigel, age 76, of Stover, passed away Thursday, April 23, 2015, at her home.
She was born January 19, 1939, in Stover a daughter of the late Clarence E. and Helyn Holsten Burke. Carol Sue was baptized February 12, 1939 and confirmed March 29, 1953, at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Stover.
She married Roger Heimsoth and to this union one son was born. She married John Weigel and he preceded her in death.
She was a 1957 graduate of Stover High School.
Following graduation Carol Sue moved to Kansas City where she was employed as a secretary for Clark Oil Company and later as a realtor with the Eugene Brown Real Estate Agency. In 1971 Carol Sue moved back to Stover for a brief time, before returning to Kansas City where she worked for Roller Derby Skate Corp. Upon returning to Stover she became the broker/owner of New Horizon Realty, then worked for Century 21 Realty and Teeple Realty before retiring.
She was a member of the St. Paul Lutheran Church in Stover.
As a teenager Carol Sue was crowned rodeo queen of the J-Bar-H rodeo. She enjoyed horseback riding, hunting and fishing. She was an avid animal lover, who found her passion in volunteering with the animal shelters in Versailles and founded the Stover animal shelter. One of her proudest moments was rescuing numerous animals from the ravages of Hurricane Katrina.
Survivors include one son, Mark Heimsoth, one granddaughter, Heather Heimsoth and one great granddaughter, Madisyn Heimsoth all of Stover; three sisters, Wilma Jean Chandler of Kansas City; Marsha Boeschen and husband Ronnie of Sedalia and Michelle Walker and husband Jim of Branson; one brother, Roger Burke and wife Connie of Sedalia; along with nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
Funeral services will be 4:00 p.m. Sunday, April 26, at Scrivner-Morrow Funeral Home in Stover with Pastor Gerald Kurka officiating. The family will receive friends from 2:00-4:00 p.m. Sunday, April 26, at the Scrivner-Morrow Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions are suggested to the Warsaw Nursing Home.
