Carol Sue Shikles

Carol Sue Shikles, age 75, of Jefferson City, passed away Sunday morning, February 9, 2014, at Capital Region Medical Center in Jefferson City, surrounded by her family. She was born June 1, 1938, on the family farm in Enon, a daughter of Herbert W. and Ruby Scott Wiser. On March 8, 1969, at the Mt. Olive Baptist Church near Russellville, Carol Sue was united in marriage to James Lee Shikles, who survives at their home. She was a 1955 graduate of Russellville High School. Carol Sue was a homemaker, busy raising her two children. Prior to starting her family, she was employed as a keypunch operator with the Missouri Department of Revenue for many years. She was a faithful member of the Cornerstone Baptist Church in Jefferson City.
In addition to her husband of 44 years, she is survived by two children, Tim Shikles and wife Krista of New Bloomfield and Michelle Shikles of Jefferson City; two sisters, Rita Wiser and Sonya Baysinger and husband Bob all of Jefferson City; a sister-in-law, Saundra Wiser of Jefferson City; three grandchildren, Derek Lee, Matthew William and Lelah Christine Shikles, along with nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Carol Sue was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Gary Wiser. Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Thursday, February 13, at the Cornerstone Baptist Church in Jefferson City with Rev. Brian Credille officiating. Interment will be in the Enloe Cemetery west of Russellville. The family will receive friends from 4:00-7:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 12, at the Scrivner-Morrow Funeral Home in Russellville. Memorial contributions are suggested to the Cornerstone Baptist Church.
