Carol Aline Alpers, age 69, of Stover, Missouri died Sunday, August 2, 2009, at Delhaven Nursing Center in St. Louis, Missouri.
She was born December 31, 1939, in Nashville, Tennessee, a daughter of J.T. and Mary Lena Hammons Roberson.
On July 28, 1972, Carol married Melvin John Alpers in Fulton, Missouri. Melvin preceded her in death August 2, 2004.
She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Stover.
Survivors include five children, Mary Elizabeth Smith of Florida; Nancy Aline Cochran of Florida; Charlene Kirkland of Tennessee; Johnny Sherrill of Florida and Charles E. Sherrill of Tennessee; four brothers, James Roberson of Chattanooga, Tennessee; Gerald "Jerry" Roberson of Cleveland, Ohio; Alfred Roberson of Knoxville, Tennessee and Paul Roberson of Paducah, Kentucky; also other relatives and friends.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, Kenneth Roberson, a sister, Nelda Faye Colson and two stepsons, Kenneth and Michael Alpers.
A grave side service will be held at 11:00 A.M. Thursday, August 6, at St. Paul Lutheran Cemetery in Stover with Rev. Cecil Murdock officiating.
Friends will be received from 10:30 A.M. -11:00 A.M Thursday, August 6, at the Scrivner-Morrow Funeral Home in Stover.
