Carl Duane Weaver

Carl Duane Weaver passed away December 22, 2009, at his home in Russellville.
He was born the youngest child of Dr. Raymond E. and Bessie A. Williams Weaver in Russellville on May 27, 1934.
On May 27, 1953, he was united in marriage to Dixie Rose Hutchison. To this union three children were born. Surviving are Michelle Lee (Michael) Schaffner of Columbia; Mitchell Leo Weaver of Lake Forest, California and Melody Weaver Marcks of Columbia. Duane is also survived by three grandsons, Adam Patrick Schaffner and his fiancé, Meagan Tennyson, Carter Bryson Marcks and Dayton Weaver Marcks all of Columbia; as well as siblings, Raymond Vern Weaver of Tebbetts and Irma Lee Gentges of Jefferson City. Also, surviving are numerous beloved nephews and nieces. His sister, Norma June Jungmeyer, preceded him in death.
Duane was a graduate of Russellville High School. He served in the U.S. Army from January 1957, until January 1959, at Fort Bliss, Texas, as a draftsman for the Nike Missile defense system. Upon his return from the service, he was employed by the Missouri Highway Department as a member of the survey crew, then later as a draftsman in the Bridge Division for 25 years. In 1974, he took over his father's charter (MFA) Shelter Insurance Agency in Russellville, retiring in January 2000.
Duane loved his wife, children and grandchildren, and cherished his time with them. He was a master carpenter and talented artist. He and Dixie enjoyed traveling and "camping" with friends in their motor home.
A celebration of his life and reception will be held on Saturday, December 26, 2009, from 1:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. at the Parish Hall of the Trinity Lutheran Church , 13007 State Route C, in Russellville, for family and friends. A private family ceremony will follow at a later time.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, 2413 Hyde Park Road, Jefferson City, MO 65109 or a charity of the donor's choice.
