C. David Dittmer

Carl David Dittmer, age 71, of Smithton, died unexpectedly Tuesday, November 8, 2011, at Bothwell Regional Health Center in Sedalia.
He was born July 28, 1940, on the family farm in Smithton, a son of the late Carl and Velma Page Dittmer. On July 6, 1968, in Sedalia, David was united in marriage to Linda Busker, who survives at their home.
He was a 1958 graduate of Smithton High School.
David was a lifelong farmer in the Smithton and Florence communities.
He was a faithful and active member of St. John United Church of Christ in Florence.
David loved being on his farm, where he could work cattle, run his John Deere tractor or spend many hours riding horses.
Survivors also include one daughter and son-in-law, Amy and Greg Wittman of Florence; one brother and sister-in-law, Richard and Irene Dittmer of Smithton; three grandchildren, Dylan, Paige and Jenna Wittman, also nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
Funeral services will be 11:00 A.M. Saturday, November 12, at St. John United Church of Christ in Florence with Rev. Gene Page and Pastor Dan Page officiating. Interment will be in St. John UCC Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 5:30-7:30 P.M. Friday, November 11, at the Scrivner-Morrow Funeral Home in Stover. Memorial contributions are suggested to St. John UCC Cemetery in Florence.
