Bruce J. Proctor, 69, of Tipton, MO, passed away Saturday, January 23, 2021 at his home.
He was the only child of J.W. and Peggy (Ferris) Proctor, and was born in Boonville, MO, on October 29, 1951.
Bruce was a graduate of Tipton High School Class of 1969. He was a Sergeant in the United States Air Force and honorably served from 1969-1973. Bruce earned his bachelor’s degree in Forestry from the University of Missouri and he was a fourth generation owner of Proctor’s Building Materials in Tipton. He was a member of the 1969 Benny's Boys, and the Tipton United Methodist Church where he served as Administration Chairman. Bruce was President of the Tipton Jaycees in 1983, and Past President on the Board at Tipton Manor for many years.
Bruce enjoyed photography, going to car shows, boating, and traveling. He loved to watch the Kansas City Chiefs and the Missouri Tigers.
Survivors include three children, Myles Proctor (Christy) of Tipton, MO, Krystal Proctor Lang (Matthew) of St. Louis, MO, and Julie Grimes (Michael) of Columbia, MO; four grandchildren, Zach Knippel, Ian Romig, Alora Proctor, and Olivia Lang.
In addition to both of his parents he was preceded in death by one son-in-law, Bucky Knippel.
Bruce’s wishes were to be cremated and no services are scheduled at this time due to Covid, but the family invites the community to come to Proctor's Building Materials to sign a memorial and pay their respects on Thursday, January 28th through Saturday February 6th during regular business hours.
Burial will be held at a later date at the Tipton Masonic Cemetery.
Honorary pallbearers are Benny Bestgen, Bill Veulemans, Frank Knipp, Herb Rimel, Gilbert Hake, John Klass, John Whipple, John Schuster, Steve Byergo, and Benny Hainen.
Memorial contributions are suggested to the Price James Library and may be left in care of the funeral home.
Arrangements are under the direction of Meisenheimer Funeral Home in Tipton, MO.
