Brenda Ann Sutton

October 4, 1951 — September 16, 2014

Brenda Ann Sutton, age 62, of Stover passed away Tuesday, September 16, 2014, at University Hospital in Columbia.
She was born October 4, 1951, in Doe Run, Missouri, the oldest daughter of Ivory and Aurelia "Rita Belle" Vaughan Brooks.
Brenda married David L. Sutton, and to this union four children were born.
In the early 1980's Brenda and David made Morgan County their home.
She was a homemaker, busy raising her family. After her children were grown, Brenda worked at various turkey barns in the Stover area and also assisted at the Chapman Veterinary Clinic in Versailles.
She was very creative and an accomplished seamstress, even making her children's Halloween costumes. She had a green thumb, and could often be seen tending to her yard and garden, even though her health often made it difficult to get around. She enjoyed cooking for family and friends, spending time at the lake fishing and had a soft spot for all kinds of animals.
Survivors include three children, Albert Sutton and wife Angela of Sedalia; Daniel David Sutton and wife Heather of Pleasant Hope and Neoma June Jackson of Stover; a son-in-law, David Jackson of Stover; companion, Donald Brinkman of Stover; great aunt and uncle, June and Lowell Smith of Farmington; one brother, Danny Brooks of Springfield; three sisters, Rhonda Brooks of Raleigh, North Carolina; June Simmons and husband Norman of Cape Girardeau and Marlene Folsom and husband Butch of Ivy Bend; one half sister, Linda Osgood of Kansas City, Kansas and a sister-by-choice, Lisa Allee and husband Tim of Sedalia; eighteen grandchildren, Tammy, Sara, David, James, Jr., Timmy, Leo Jr., Kaylee, Dakota, Sierra, Robert, Tiffany and husband Jason, Jake and wife Sara, Josh, Justin, Allen, Anthony, Josie and Madisen, four great grandchildren, Jenna, Shelby, Logan, and Hunter, along with nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, other relatives and many friends.
Brenda was preceded in death by her parents, her former husband, David Sutton on July 10, 2013, one son, David Lee Sutton, one granddaughter, Rebecca Ann Blackston, one sister, Glenda Brooks and one half-sister, Betty Shireman.
A Celebration of Brenda's life will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, September 27, at the Stover United Methodist Church with Rev. Diane Cutler officiating. A Pot Luck dinner will follow the service.
