Bonnie Smith

Bonnie Belle Dority Smith died February 23, 2022, at her home in Smithton, MO. Bonnie was born in Climax Springs, MO on July 25, 1938, and was the youngest daughter of Ruby (Finley) Dority and Earl “Jake” Dority.

She was married on June 10, 1955, to Charles Delbert Smith who survives of the home.

Bonnie worked at Melita Day Nursery, did daycare in her home and worked in housekeeping at Brooking Park. She loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and took every opportunity to spoil them. She enjoyed crocheting and was world-famous for her noodles. She attended Lake Creek United Methodist Church.

She is survived by her husband of 66 years, two daughters: Kathy Smith Page (Kenneth) and Karen Smith Hill (James). Also surviving are five grandchildren: Heather Page Allen (Jay) of California, MO, Melissa Page (Drew) of Warrensburg, Amber Page of Sedalia, Michael Glenn, of Sedalia and Megan Glenn Carver of Sedalia.

Great-grandchildren are Isabelle and Sophia Allen, Adelei and Asher Page-Smith and Charlie and Baby Carver.

Preceding her in death were her parents and her brothers and sisters: Eugene Dority, Harvey Dority, Howard Dority, Rose (Dority) Carter, Cletta (Dority) Upton and Anna (Dority) Brown.

There will be a visitation from 1:00 pm until service time on Monday, February 28, 2022, at Scrivner-Page-Dady Funeral Home in Stover.  Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm on Monday at the funeral home with burial to follow at the Stover Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Michael Glenn, Kenneth Page, James Hill, Jay Allen, Drew Smith, Caleb Carver. Honorary pallbearers will be Heather Allen, Amber Page, Melissa Page and Megan Carver.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions to Lake Creek United Methodist Church Camp Meeting.
