Billy Joe "Bill" Wilson

Billy Joe "Bill" Wilson, age 62, of Versailles, passed away Tuesday, May 10, 2016 at his home.
He was born May 31, 1953, a son of Clyde and Juanita Silvey Wilson.
Bill was married to Patricia Sartain and to this union one son, Ben, was born. He was with Karla Metcalf and they had one daughter, Cheyenne.
He served his country in the Marine Corps.
He owned his owned Asphalt and Paving for many years.
He was a collector of all sorts of things, from arrowheads to knives; but he especially loved hot rod cars and NASCAR.
Bill is survived by one son, Ben Wilson and wife Brandy of Sedalia; two daughters, Cheyenne Metcalf of Laurie and Jessica Fields of Versailles; five grandchildren; one brother, Don of Kansas; three sisters, Wilma of Kansas City, Brenda of Versailles, and Carol of Stover; and several other family members.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers, Clyde Jr., Phillip "Nick", Larry and John; and one sister Willa.
A memorial service will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday, May 19, 2016 at the Scrivner-Morrow Funeral Home in Versailles with Rev. Gerald Hamlett officiating. The song selections will be "Long Black Train", "Live Like You Were Dying", and "Go Rest High on the Mountain". Inurment will be at the West Lawn Addition of the Versailles Cemetery. Dean Smith, Lil Dave Sutton, Steven Hibdon, Chris Buckingham, Andy Edgar, Bryce Wilson, Brock Wilson, and Braiden Edgar are honorary pallbearers.
The family will receive friends from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service.
Memorial contributions are suggested to the Cheyenne Metcalf College Fund.
