Billie E. Pangborn, age 73, of Stover, peacefully entered rest Sunday night, January 11, 2015, with friends and loved ones at her side.
She was born September 27, 1941, in Humansville, a daughter of Rolland and Helen Broyles Pangborn, both deceased.
Billie was a 1959 graduate of Humansville High School and a graduate of Central Missouri State University in Warrensburg with a degree in Education.
For thirty years Ms. Pangborn taught history at the Morgan County R-I high school. After retirement, she continued to substitute teach for several more years. She loved and was beloved by many of her students, as much of her life was dedicated to both teaching and learning.
Billie was a tomboy at heart, spending many hours trout fishing with her dad, fly fishing, drag racing, and going to gun and knives shows. She loved all kinds of sports and had a knack for softball, where she was the catcher for her high school and college softball teams. She enjoyed reading a good book, could sketch anything quite skillfully, was an avid animal lover, and most of all enjoyed making and keeping friends.
Survivors include her siblings and their spouses Vickie and Bill Fowler and Eddie and Sharon Pangborn all of Bolivar; and niece, Aubrey Hampton and husband Shane of Bolivar a great nephew and a great niece, Chase and Grace Hampton; special friends, Tommy Remington, Leana Hendricks-Remington, and Edwana Remington, and her many dear friends in Stover.
A Celebration of Billie's life will be 1:30 p.m. Saturday, January 17, at the Scrivner-Morrow Funeral Home in Stover, with friends received from 12:00 noon until service time.
