Bertha L. Hudgins

Bertha L. Bartlett Hudgins, age 92, of Versailles, passed away Thursday, June 5, 2014, at St. Marys Health Center in Jefferson City. She was born October 15, 1921, in Kansas City, Kansas, the daughter of the late Raymond C. and Viola Meyers Bartlett. On August 19, 1942, Bertha was united in marriage to Holder E. Hudgins, who preceded her in death March 12, 1995. Bertha worked for Bell Telephone Credit Union in Kansas City, Missouri, retiring after more than 30 years of employment. She was a lifelong artist, spending many years in Silver Dollar City as a craftsman. Bertha enjoyed traveling, riding with her husband on their motorcycles and fishing. She was an avid reader and a busy and happy resident of Good Shepherd Care Center, who totally enjoyed the Activities program. Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, Allen D. and Jackie Hudgins of Kansas City, Kansas; one daughter and son-in-law, Julie A. and Bill Hume of Stover; five grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, one great-great grandchild, other relatives and friends. One brother, Clyde D. Bartlett, also preceded her in death.
In keeping with her family's wishes, she will be cremated. A Celebration of her life will be held at a later date. Memorial contributions are suggested to the Good Shepherd Activities Department.
