Barbara Jean Fowler passed away from this earthly life on to Glory, on September 30, 2013. Barbara was born on March 16, 1949 in Versailles, MO to Lee Edward and Arvenia (Shinault) Fowler.
Barbara was baptized at Second Baptist Church in Versailles. She graduated from Versailles High School in 1967 and moved on to attend and graduate from Capital Business College in 1968. Barbara lived for several years in Kansas City, MO. She then moved to Dallas, TX where she remained until her death. Barbara worked at various businesses in Missouri and Texas before retiring from Bracewell & Guiliani International Law Firm as a legal secretary.
Barbara continued her spiritual journey at Antioch Baptist Church in Dallas, TX. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends. Barbara especially enjoyed spending time with her grandson Demetrious. One of her favorite past times was to take a long drives to enjoy the sights in and around Texas. Barbara is survived by her son, Edward Lee Fowler of Waco, TX; Grandson, Demetrious Goad of Denton, TX; sister, Alice Jackson, brother-in-law, Herbert Jackson and nephew, Brian Jackson all of Tipton, MO; cousins, Dale Shinault of Junction City, KS; Betty Crenshaw of Kansas City, MO. Barbara had two special friends who were a true blessing and by her side continually the last few weeks of her life Carol Van Dine and Crystal Conley. Barbara had many, many more family and friends. Barbara was preceded in death by her Parents Arvenia and Lee Fowler; nephew Phillip Jackson; Aunts, Carrie and Martha Shinault. Her paternal and maternal grandparents and several other family members also preceded her in death. A memorial services will be held Saturday Oct. 26th at 2:00 pm at the Versailles Cemetery. In the event of inclement weather, the service will be held at Second Baptist Church Versailles, MO. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions are suggested for the education fund of Barbara's Grandson Demitrious in care of the Alice Jackson.
