Shortly after marrying, Ann and E.C relocated to Hawaii, where their first child, a daughter, was born. They later moved to California and welcomed the arrival of a son. In 1954, they took up residence in Alaska, where the arrival of a son and daughter made the family complete. In 1957, they homesteaded in Soldotna, Alaska, with Ann remaining there until the late 1960's when she decided to move to Oregon. It was while living in Oregon, she met her future husband, Mackie McCartney.

Following the death of her beloved Mackie, she returned to Alaska, where she was active in the Senior Center. She resided in Alaska until a few years ago when she moved to Missouri to be near her daughter.
