Anna "Ann" Lee Black, Age 82 of Stover, MO, passed away Sunday February 16th, 2025 at her home, surrounded by family.

Ann was born June 1st, 1942, in Dover, MO, a daughter of William and Janice (Rasa) Ryun, who preceded her in death.

Her family lived in Dover, MO for many years where they farmed. She attended Dover Elementary until the family moved to a farm in Independence, Mo. There she attended Blue Hills Elementary and Fort Osage High School.

At the beginning of her Senior year, the family moved to Birmingham, MO. She was a 1960 graduate from North Kansas City High School.

Ann married Darrell Kirkman on December of 1960. From this union a daughter, Jan Marie was born in 1961.

The family moved to Maywood, California where she worked in a lab for Pillsbury until they moved back to Missouri. In 1963, during their time in California, they welcomed their 2nd daughter, Jennifer Lavene.

She married the love of her life, James "Jim" Black on March 17th 1973, in Birmingham, MO. Jim preceded her in death November 19th, 2018.

Jim and Ann both worked for Byers Construction until 1984, when they moved to Stover, MO. From then on Ann worked as a private consultant writing grants for cities and counties for needed public facilities. She was contracted with the City of Versailles from 1986 until present. She served on Morgan County R-1 School Board, Mid Missouri Ambulance Board, Solid Waste District F Board, and Golden Age Living Center Board.

Ann enjoyed reading and was a wonderful cook. She was known for her famous fudge and homemade ice cream. Her greatest priority was her family. She enjoyed going to her grandchildren's sport events and there was rarely a game that she missed.

Ann spent almost everyday with her best friend, Linda "Lulu" Dake. If not in person, they were on the phone. Ann and Lulu spent many years sneaking off to the Boat and telling stories. They were two of a kind. She thought the world of her Best Friend.

Ann was an active member of the Stover First Baptist Church.

Ann is survived by one son in law; Michael Knight of Stover, three grandchildren; James D. and Amanda Knight of Stover, Brandi M. and Ryant Brown of Stover, and Ashley D. and Kyle Hedrick of Stover; nine great grandchildren; Vincent, Wyatt, Alexander, Raymi, Weston, Rynleigh, Kash, Riverlynn, and Rowan; adopted grandsons, Travis Burke and Joey Heman; one sister; Betty Campbell; one brother; Ronnie and Tammy Ryun; Brother- in- Law; Bill and Pam Black; best friend; Lulu Dake; along with her nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

In addition to her parents and husband, Ann was preceded in death by two daughters; Jan M. Sinclair and Jennifer L. Knight; one son-in-law; Larry Sinclair; three brothers; William Jr. (Sonny) Ryun, Patrick Ryun, and Stanley Ryun; two sisters; Teresa Ryun and Jeanie Stansill; two brothers-in-law's; Vearl Campbell and Donald Stansill.

The funeral will be Saturday, February 22nd at 12:00 p.m. at the Stover First Baptist Church with Rev. Chris Roe officiating. Burial will follow at the Stover Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until the service time at the Church Saturday.
