Alvin E. Klindworth

October 18, 1932 — January 25, 2015

Alvin Eugene Klindworth, age 82, a lifelong resident of Stover, passed away Sunday morning, January 25, 2015, at Golden Age Living Center in Stover.
He was born October 18, 1932, south of Stover, a son of Julius and Opal Campbell Klindworth. On February 3, 1991, Alvin was united in marriage to Rabecca Weaver, who survives at their home.
He served as a Police Officer for the City of Stover and a Deputy Sheriff for the Morgan County Sheriff's Department for several years. For 18 years he was the maintenance supervisor for the City of Stover. Most recently he owned and operated Alvin's Backhoe and Gravel until his health failed him a little more than a year ago.
Alvin was an outdoors man, who enjoyed fishing and hunting. He never met a stranger and enjoyed visiting with everyone, however, his greatest enjoyment came from spending time with his family.
He attended the Big Rock Church near Barnett.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by three sons, Robert Eldridge, Jonathan Eldridge and Garrett Eldridge all of Stover; five daughters, Brenda Phillips and husband Lawrence of Rocky Comfort; Gloria Butts and husband Ted of Neosho; Betty Jenkins and husband Paul of McGirk; Erika Eldridge and Morgan Eldridge both of Stover; eight grandchildren, sixteen great grandchildren, two great-great grandsons, along with nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, an infant son, one brother, Delmar Klindworth, one sister, Lucille Klindworth and a grandchild.
A Celebration of Alvin's life will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 31, at the Big Rock Church near Barnett with Rev. Craig Joy officiating. A pot luck dinner will follow the service in the fellowship hall. Memorial contributions are suggested to Alvin Klindworth Memorial Fund.
