Speed Branch, age 74, of Versailles passed away Tuesday, July 4, 2023, at Mercy Hospital in Springfield.
He was born January 22, 1949, in Versailles, the son of Roy and Wilda (Sidebottom) McCasland.
On April 5, 1976, he was united in marriage to Brenda Hardey in Versailles.
He spent his days logging, working on the farm, and taking care of others. Later in life he liked to talk on the phone and watch tv. His greatest enjoyment was spoiling his wife and being with family.
Left to carry on his legacy is his wife Brenda of Versailles; two daughters, Melissa Branch and Amy Culbertson of Versailles; two sons, Chad Hardey of Gravois Mills and Speed Branch, Jr. of Sedalia; three siblings, Melvin Branch of Kansas City, Lola Hayes of Stover, and Larry McCasland of Stover; three sisters-in-law, Ruby O'Bryan of Versailles, Betty Avey of Versailles, and Tabitha Sutton of Clarksburg; eleven grandchildren; several great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Monday, July 10, 2023, at the Scrivner-Page-Dady Funeral Home in Stover with Pastor Danny Owsley officiating. The burial will be in the Versailles Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until the time of the service on Monday at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions are suggested to the Family Worship Center in Versailles.
