Kenneth Donald Montgomery, 88, of Stover, passed away Saturday, October 14, 2023, at his home.
He was born May 4, 1935, in Greentop, son of Obert Leon and Mabel (Fugate) Montgomery.
On December 12, 1955, he was married to Esther Elnore (Clay), who preceded him in death on August 1, 1998.
On January 1, 1999, in Versailles, he was married to Ellen (James), who survives of the home.
Kenneth was a U.S. Army veteran, serving from 1954 to 1958, as a machinist. He continued his work as a machinist for International Harvester, from where he retired. He also attended barber school and worked as a barber for five years. He was a member of Trinity Southern Baptist Church. He enjoyed anything to do with tractors, going to tractor shows, and bowling. He will be remembered as a strong, Christian man. He knew the Bible from front to back.
In addition to his wife, Ellen, he is survived by three children, Larry Montgomery, Janet Hale (Tim), and Sheila Waters (Joseph); seven grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; four step-children, Duane Frazelle, Billy Frazelle (Kathy), Cheryl Brogan (Tim), and Diana Wilson; six step-grandchildren and five step-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Jean Plowman and Norma Roberts; and two brothers, Russell Montgomery and Gerald Montgomery.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two grandchildren; and a brother, Richard Montgomery.
Graveside services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, October 19, 2023, at Versailles Cemetery.
