Franklin D McGinnis

Franklin "Butch" Delano McGinnis, 85, of Versailles, passed away Saturday, September 16, 2023 at the Lake Regional Hospital in Osage Beach.

He was born May 23,1938, south of Versailles, Missouri, son of Willie Mason and Alice Evelyn (Persival) McGinnis.

Butch was a lifelong resident of Versailles and longtime and faithful member of the Grace Lutheran Church. He was baptized and confirmed there and rarely missed a service.

It was on June 2,1961 that he married the love of his life Mary Frances Munsterman, at the Trinity Lutheran Church of Stover. Mary preceded him in death on June 15, 2004.

Butch served his country in the United States Army in Germany during the Berlin Airlift.

He loved to play pool and talk with family and friends, which included spending time with his special friend Joan. In his younger years he would cut firewood for many people that were in need. If he wasn't working you might catch him hunting or more than likely you'd find him in his boat with his favorite fishing buddy Jerry Headrick, reeling in countless crappie over there 20 plus years of friendship. Sometimes he'd enjoy just kicking back and listening to some good ol country music and enjoying a sweet treat.

Butch is survived by many nieces and nephews, other relatives and many friends especially Joan Burnett and his fishing buddy.

In addition to his parents and wife of 43 years, he is also preceded in death by one sister Mildred Foxworthy.

Funeral services will be 11:00 am Friday, September 22,2023, at the Scrivner-Page-Dady Funeral Home in Stover, with Pastor Erik Rottmann officiating. The burial will take place immediately following the service in the Stover Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 10:00 am until the time of the service at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions are suggested to the Grace Lutheran Church in Versailles, Missouri.
